Developing our first in house calibre

Developing our first in house calibre

While we complete the last of our tailor-made builds the first of our 2nd Edition Project 248 watches are taking shape. We spent six years researching and developing our first in house calibre, and in the last eighteen months we’ve been building on that foundation to refine our process and define the next stage in the evolution of Project 248. Cutting the plate back to a 3/4 layout has allowed us to thin the movement slightly. We’ve developed a new keyless mechanism which fuses an original 19th century design with a contemporary system to create something both new and old.

Even our parachute shock setting has evolved into an increasingly complex style that more closely reflects Abraham-Louis Breguet’s original invention.

Our restoration background means we’ve always had a love of watch designs created all around the world and we'll continue to celebrate a selection of our favourites throughout the development of our Project 248 watches. We’ll always use a traditional English lever escapement and French-designed shock proofing, and this next series pairs that with Swiss wolf’s tooth gearing and some exciting new materials developments we hope to share with you soon.
